The City officially launched the City of Film brand identity and announced the “Building Cinema in Schools” initiative.
The event was attended by Mr. Huynh Cong Khoi Nguyen – Head of the Film Archives and Distribution Division, Vietnam Film Institute; Mr. Truong Thanh Phuong – Deputy Head of the Arts Division, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; Director Lam Le Dung – Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association; Mr. Tran Quy Binh – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Arts Center; Director Khoa Nguyen – Director of MTH Film and Technology Joint Stock Company; Director Dao Minh Uyen; and Director Le Chi Na.
The City of Film brand identity features the letter “H”—representing Ho Chi Minh City—formed by two intertwined strips of film. The gold color symbolizes creativity and artistic expression, while the blue represents modernity, professionalism, and international integration.
The gradient effect connecting the two sides of the “H” symbolizes the connection between people, stories, and cinema. The film reel icon beneath further emphasizes the spirit of visual storytelling and the continuous flow of cinema. Overall, the logo portrays Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic and creative metropolis, as well as a destination for filmmaking—where stories come to life through film.
