Culture

The history of Ho Chi Minh City art is a continuation and development of the national art with a history of thousands of years. Ho Chi Minh City - Saigon Gia Dinh was formerly the center of convergence of the creative labor of the newly discovered land. Most of the authors, artists and artisans, although named Saigon, originated from many localities, the number of Saigon people accounted for a small proportion.

Since the country was completely liberated, the City's art has taken a step forward. It inherited, in addition to its ancient capital, a period of fierce revolutionary struggle lasting 30 years, in which many forms of expression were expressed at the same time: in enemy-controlled areas, the so-called orthodox art was truly isolated from the combative art forms at different levels and forms of mass art, both professional and amateur, in the fields of theater, singing, painting, photography, cinema...

Climate, weather

Ho Chi Minh City, like the Mekong Delta, is located in the tropics, near the equator, but close to the Pacific Ocean, so it has a special climate. Each year there are only two seasons: dry season and rainy season, influenced by the monsoon. The average temperature during the year is 27.3°C, with a range of 30.8°C, humidity 78.3%.

The total rainfall in this season is 1,800mm, accounting for 93% of the annual rainfall. The maximum monthly rainfall is 333mm (September), the average is 257.1mm, the minimum is 117mm (November). Rainfall in Ho Chi Minh City is also quite special. Most of the rains occur from 13:00 onwards. The dry season is from December to April. The driest months are January, February, and March on the occasion of Lunar New Year. During this season, there are on average only one or two rainy days with rainfall below 15mm. Temperatures in these months are all below 75%.

In Saigon city, now Ho Chi Minh city, there are almost no storms. Every year, it is only affected by storms that enter the central provinces. At that time, there are strong winds of level 4 to level 5 and heavy rain.
