<\/p>\nOfficially opening this morning (October 23), Future Frame Celebration Week 2025 (FFCW 2025), organized by the Faculty of Communication and Design at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) in collaboration with partners, promises to be a valuable creative technology learning space, especially for students majoring in Film and Television Technology and Multimedia Communications.<\/p>\n

Dr. H\u1ed3 T\u1ed1 Ph\u01b0\u01a1ng expressed her expectations that FFCW 2025 would create a space for cinematic and technological experimentation.<\/em><\/p>\n Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. H\u1ed3 T\u1ed1 Ph\u01b0\u01a1ng \u2013 Dean of the Faculty \u2013 shared the message: \u201cTechnology is the vehicle that takes us into the future, and cinema is the telescope that allows us to see that future.\u201d She expressed her hope that FFCW 2025 would not only be an artistic event but also open up a rich experimental space where students can freely explore creativity with cinema and new technologies. And it is young people who will become the source of inspiration, shaping those stories through their creative perspectives.<\/p>\n Speaker Minchol Cha introduced the Busan International Short Film Festival.<\/em><\/p>\n Following that, a talk session with speaker Minchol Cha \u2013 Director of BISFF and Professor of Film at Dong-eui University \u2013 took place, providing valuable insights into the Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF). Established in 1980 under the name The Korea Short Film Festival, it expanded to an international scale in 2010. Instead of trying to please the jury, filmmakers should focus on satisfying themselves, because only when they truly believe in their work can they convey genuine emotions to the audience. He also emphasized the importance of carefully investing in content, technique, sound, and lighting, considering these as the foundation for a complete film. He encouraged young filmmakers not to chase distant or overly ambitious topics, but to start from stories close to their own lives, local culture, and everyday realities\u2014elements that create a unique identity in today\u2019s globalized context.<\/p>\n Prior to that, FFCW 2025 had already kicked off its first activities on October 22, including an augmented reality (AR) art exhibition, virtual reality (VR) experiences, and the themed workshop \u201cAR Art \u2013 The Making\u201d, where participants practiced creating effects on social media platforms (TikTok, Snapchat) with visual artist Anne Horel.\n\nNotably, the screening of the feature film Sound of Metal\u2014which won the Academy Award for Best Sound at the 93rd Oscars (2021) and also received the BAFTA Award for Best Sound\u2014attracted a large number of university students. The talk session with the film\u2019s sound engineer, Michelle Couttolenc, also delivered inspiring insights into the art and technique of sound design that deeply engages the senses.<\/p>\n FFCW 2025 will continue until October 25.
