On the evening of April 6th in Ho Chi Minh City, the Closing Gala and Awards Ceremony of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival took place, organized by the Youth Film Studio in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association. With the theme \"Green,\" the festival serves as a professional and healthy artistic playground for the city\u2019s students, while promoting a positive lifestyle and community and environmental responsibility through the lens of cinema. <\/span><\/p>\n

1. \u201cNurturing\u201d Art<\/span><\/h2>\n

Before the Gala night, the Festival had gone through a long journey since January 2025, starting with the opening press conference at Cinestar cinema. Following that, the 'Uni tour' series, themed<\/span>\u201cGreen Journey\u201d<\/span>was held at various universities, providing a space for interaction between students and directors, producers such as People\u2019s Artist M\u1ef9 Uy\u00ean, Meritorious Artist \u0110\u1eb7ng L\u01b0u Vi\u1ec7t B\u1ea3o, Meritorious Artist Tuy\u1ebft Thu, directors Xu\u00e2n Ph\u01b0\u1edbc, Luk V\u00e2n, Kh\u01b0\u01a1ng Ng\u1ecdc, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The winning teams took commemorative photos with the guests and the Organizing Committee.<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The award gala of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival, held on the evening of April 6th, honored 12 outstanding works across four categories: Short Film, Reportage, Music Video, and Independent Film.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Independent Film category, <\/span>Chia \u0111\u00f4i<\/span><\/i> (Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts) was awarded First Prize. <\/span>Green Message<\/span><\/i> (Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry) <\/span>and Pick Today, Green Tomorrow<\/span><\/i> (Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry) received Second and Third Prizes, respectively<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Music Video category <\/span>the First Prize went to Green UEHER Citizen<\/span><\/i> (University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City). <\/span>Spring of Volunteering 2024<\/span><\/i> (University of Information Technology \u2013 Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) <\/span>and When the Sun Rises High<\/span><\/i> (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education) earned Second and Third Prizes, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Reportage Film category lacks the presence of the University of Theatre and Cinema team.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In the Documentary Film category <\/span>The Knowledge Healer<\/span><\/i> (University of Theatre and Cinema) claimed the top award. <\/span>Scented Mist of Tr\u1ea3ng B\u00e0ng<\/span><\/i> (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) <\/span>and Fishermen\u2019s Salty Lives<\/span><\/i> (Nguyen Tat Thanh University) received the Second and Third Prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The work <\/span>The Hue Dance <\/span>by Van Lang University team won third prize.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

In the Short Film category <\/span>Sam & So<\/span><\/i> (Hong Bang International University) won First Prize. Suitcase<\/span> Vali<\/span><\/i> (University of Theatre and Cinema) and <\/span>The Hue Dance<\/span><\/i> (Van Lang University) received Second and Third Prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three special prizes were also awarded: <\/span>Scented Mist of Tr\u1ea3ng B\u00e0ng <\/span><\/i>won Best Screenplay <\/span>Because I\u2019m Still Alive <\/span><\/i>received the Audience Choice Award, University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) earned the Best Participation Award with nine entries submitted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The total prize value amounted to 66 million VND in cash, along with certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, <\/span>H\u1ed9i Sinh vi\u00ean TP. HCM<\/span>Festival trophies, and scholarships from sponsoring organizations, all presented to the participating students.<\/span><\/p>\n
