On the evening of April 6th in Ho Chi Minh City, the Closing Gala and Awards Ceremony of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival took place, organized by the Youth Film Studio in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association. With the theme "Green," the festival serves as a professional and healthy artistic playground for the city’s students, while promoting a positive lifestyle and community and environmental responsibility through the lens of cinema.
1. “Nurturing” Art
Before the Gala night, the Festival had gone through a long journey since January 2025, starting with the opening press conference at Cinestar cinema. Following that, the 'Uni tour' series, themed“Green Journey”was held at various universities, providing a space for interaction between students and directors, producers such as People’s Artist Mỹ Uyên, Meritorious Artist Đặng Lưu Việt Bảo, Meritorious Artist Tuyết Thu, directors Xuân Phước, Luk Vân, Khương Ngọc, and others.

Through these conversations, young people not only had the opportunity to listen to career stories mà còn hiểu thêm về but also gained a deeper understanding of the social responsibility of filmmakers in reflecting beauty and conveying humanitarian messages.
The success of Liên hoan phim Sinh viên TP. HCM the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival lies in the Organizing Committee providing students with a platform that offers additional knowledge, techniques, and aesthetics in the process of making short films, music videos, and independent films," expressed Mr. Phan Văn An – Director of Hãng Phim Trẻ and Head of the Organizing Committee of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival.

2. Honoring the "Green Frames"
The award gala of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival, held on the evening of April 6th, honored 12 outstanding works across four categories: Short Film, Reportage, Music Video, and Independent Film.
Representatives of the winning teams in the Independent Film category.
In the Independent Film category, Chia đôi (Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts) was awarded First Prize. Green Message (Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry) and Pick Today, Green Tomorrow (Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry) received Second and Third Prizes, respectively
The team won first prize in the Musical Film category.
In the Music Video category the First Prize went to Green UEHER Citizen (University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City). Spring of Volunteering 2024 (University of Information Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) and When the Sun Rises High (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education) earned Second and Third Prizes, respectively.
The Reportage Film category lacks the presence of the University of Theatre and Cinema team.
In the Documentary Film category The Knowledge Healer (University of Theatre and Cinema) claimed the top award. Scented Mist of Trảng Bàng (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) and Fishermen’s Salty Lives (Nguyen Tat Thanh University) received the Second and Third Prizes.
The work The Hue Dance by Van Lang University team won third prize.
In the Short Film category Sam & So (Hong Bang International University) won First Prize. Suitcase Vali (University of Theatre and Cinema) and The Hue Dance (Van Lang University) received Second and Third Prizes.
Three special prizes were also awarded: Scented Mist of Trảng Bàng won Best Screenplay Because I’m Still Alive received the Audience Choice Award, University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) earned the Best Participation Award with nine entries submitted.
The total prize value amounted to 66 million VND in cash, along with certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, Hội Sinh viên TP. HCMFestival trophies, and scholarships from sponsoring organizations, all presented to the participating students.
